Why here of all places?
Franconia is large and there are many campsites in it. What sets this one apart is next to this: it is newly built, the village has its own motorway exit, and this is where the three Franconian districts meet.
- Newly built
- The site was built from spring 2025 and opened in April 2026. Every pitch has its own electricity connection, and there is a tent meadow and a new sanitary building in the middle of the site.
- Its own exit
- Geiselwind lies on the A3 between Würzburg and Nuremberg and has its own junction, exit 76. From there you follow the road towards Geiselwind to Wiesentheider Straße.
- At the Drei-Franken-Eck
- That is the name of the area where Lower, Middle and Upper Franconia meet. The site itself lies in the Steigerwald nature park, in the district of Kitzingen, so in Lower Franconia.
- Three cities for a day trip
- Würzburg around 40 km, Bamberg around 40 km, Nuremberg around 65 km. The driving times are in the table below.

- At exit 76, the same exit as the site: restaurants, an in-house butcher, Shell and Total filling stations open around the clock, a Mercedes-Benz service workshop, a hotel and a motorway chapel.

Steigerwald: 129,000 hectares behind the tree line.
Geiselwind lies inside the Steigerwald nature park: around 129,000 hectares of woodland and cultivated landscape across six districts, with some of the oldest beech forests in Germany; individual stands are up to 300 years old.
- Treetop walkway
- 1,152 metres of path through the canopy, step-free throughout, on average 26 metres above the ground, ending in a 42-metre viewing tower built almost entirely from local timber. In operation since 19 March 2016, between Ebrach and Breitbach.
- Steigerwald panorama trail
- 161 kilometres from Bad Windsheim to Bamberg, through vineyards, old forests and past castles.
- Drei-Franken-Stein trail
- 46 kilometres and around 800 metres of ascent through all three Franconian districts. Geiselwind is one of the three municipalities that set up the trail in 2000.

What is the Drei-Franken-Eck?
The Drei-Franken-Eck is the wooded area where the three Franconian districts of Lower, Middle and Upper Franconia meet. Geiselwind belongs to it and lies in Lower Franconia, in the district of Kitzingen.
The meeting point is marked by the Drei-Franken-Stein: a 2.80 metre shell limestone block weighing two and a half tonnes, set on 1 May 1979, in the middle of the Steigerwald nature park near the source of the Reiche Ebrach. Its predecessor from 1892, a 135 centimetre sandstone column, still stands in the forest around 12 kilometres away.

- The Franconian wine region begins west of the Steigerwald. Würzburg, around 40 km away, is its centre.
- Concerts and festivals
- The event centre at the exit runs its own programme; the site is 2.8 kilometres away. On festival weekends it is worth booking early.
